Following on from the APPG Inaugural Meeting held on 14th January 2025, we are delighted to learn from Tim Pravda, @ExcludedFighter down in England and Stephen Davis, @DaviesSteve down in Wales that their concerted efforts to bring about the creation of a new Excluded APPG, Chaired by Steve Witherden MP @switherdenMP, was successful.
It is anticipated that there will be an informal discussion as a follow up to the Inaugural Meeting next week. The APPG members are still waiting for the official registration be finalised by Parliamentary officials, before their next official APPG meeting can take place.
In the interim we encourage the Excluded Community in Scotland, Wales, England and Northern Ireland to lobby their MPs to join the APPG if they have not already done so. Chris Scott, from the Excluded Scotland Team, has written a template letter which can be quickly customised by anyone to expeditated contacting MPs. Whilst we realise many people have left the Twitter / X platform since it was taken over by Elon Musk, the majority of MPs are still using it. To this end we would encourage anyone who still has an account to please consider jump back on to it to push the Excluded massage. Obviously, the message and requests to join the APPG can be pushed by which ever platforms you feel comfortable with using.
